During this week reading I experienced a lot of "Ah-Ha!" moments. I found it so intriguing that at ages 10-12 our tailbones and bodies are growing causing discomfort and pain. I specifically point this one out because at this age I always remember complaining to my parents about a sore back and legs and there simple reply was "you're a growing girl!" low and behold, they were serious! Secondly, who knew technology was good for you in some weird way? Technology allows these students to have their own freedom and helps them even be engaged in school just a little bit more because they have the satisfaction of learning through a screen, whatever it takes I guess! At this middle level age social interaction is so important to development but to these students technology is the most important.. so what better way to combine both? Ad I stated in my YA classroom development slide, Teachers should group students together to work on assignments or projects that are on the computer. The students get to use technology like they want all while having that aspect of social interaction!
I like how you point out technology usage and how it can impact students. It can be super frustrating for teachers and other students if sometimes technology use out of turn and can potentially distract a group of students or more.
