Blog post 14: PLN

4. Get Support When Needed:

As a Future teacher I never thought about the logistics of being a good teacher meant, just that I will teach my curriculum and lessons to my full potential, but being a well-rounded and skilled teacher comes with way more than just that. We as teachers in society need to stand up and help other teachers around us, as cliché as this may sound, and one once said, two heads is better than one! And that remains true. As teachers come together and support each other we can provide an efficient and overall improved classroom and school community. Yes, it is sometimes challenging to ask for support as giving support as well but when teachers overcome that step of doing it all on their own it can make a world of difference not to only for us and for our students. Having a PLN will allow us to connect with other teachers and professional educators to better ensure we get the support we all need. Afterall, students aren’t the only people learning new things, we all are.

9. Learn the latest trends in education:

While keeping up with the latest trends is rather important it allows for us to connect better in the classroom and society. Everyday there are new thi8ngs being introduced to the education world to benefit both teachers and students as if teachers did their park to keep up and take the time to “stay with the times” it would simply amplify the classroom and education world, and keep it fun and entertaining to. Learning new trends is rather nerve wracking but overtime will benefit everyone. Having a PLN can show us new and exclusive ideas in the teaching world that makes teaching and learning beneficial for all in education. Keeping up with trends and new things goes a long way, especially in today’s society.

3. Follow amazing educators and their blogs:

It is obvious none of us are professional educators and teachers yet but we sure are getting their! After taking this course and posting blogs, as well as looking over my peers blogs it created a whole other side to learning and teaching from what I had in mind. Insight from other future teachers, present teachers, and specifically educators allowed me to grow as a student and future teacher because I was able to build off ideas and connect to those around me. There are no doubt people have different opinions or outlooks on things but when we open our minds and further extend past our own ideas to view others it makes a worlds difference and allows us to better understand education and the world around us. This PLN wasn’t something I ever thought about, i didn’t willingly follow educators and teaches up until this semester and wow, it opened many new doors and outlooks for me. These aspects and points truly go a long way and broadened our teaching and education experience.
